Land Surveying Manager
Bayer Becker
Position Responsibilities:
• Overall management responsibility for land surveying department at our Mason, OH office.
• Registered Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) plans, manages and directs surveying activities and related projects.
• Supervises professional surveyors and technicians.
• Administer the company safety policy as it relates to this department.
• Establishes and maintains project priorities, budgets, and staff assignments.
• Reviews projects for financial and legal implications.
• Staff evaluation, training, and development, coaching and mentoring for growth
• Annual staff development reviews and biweekly timekeeping approvals
• Project management including guiding clients through all phases of project delivery (planning, scheduling, estimating, design, finance, invoicing, and collections)
• Consult with clients, prepare proposals, perform deed and plan research, boundary and topographic surveys, data collection and survey calculations. You will also be responsible for production of client deliverables including survey plats and property descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement descriptions/exhibits and Flood Elevation Certificates.
• Client relationship account management
• Communicate and coordinate regularly with Principal-in-Charge
• Ensure self and staff always uphold company core values.
• Coordinate and review process, procedures, and techniques with other offices to ensure quality control and consistency throughout the company.
• Ensure that the highest level of SERVICE is provided to all clients and act as necessary to maintain the firm’s high reputation for QUALITY and excellence in land surveying and any other services.
• Business development
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science in Land Surveying, or equivalent, from an accredited institution
• At least 10 years of experience in land surveying site plan design consulting
• Professional Land Surveyor registration in the state of Ohio
• Prequalified with ODOT Limited Right Of Way Plan Development category preferred
Position Qualifications:
• Demonstrated supervision and leadership experience of project technical staff
• Demonstrated ability to manage several complex projects and staff simultaneously
• Proven track record coordinating the efforts of internal and external team members
• Strong electronic design skills (preferably latest Autodesk AEC Collection software)
• Land surveying design skills with a focus on land development site planning, grading, utility systems, storm water management, Sanitary sewer and water main design, and roadway improvements.
• Prior experience with the operation and understanding of sUAS, 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanning, GPS and robotic survey equipment
