Ohio’s underground utility protection laws have changed with the passage of Ohio House Bill 227. This webinar will provide an overview of the changes that went into effect on June 9, including:

  • The one-call OHIO811 notification process
  • Responsibilities of utilities and excavators
  • Positive Response system
  • The Ohio Universal Marking Standards
  • The laws and regulations described in sections 153.64 and 3781.25 to 3781.34 of the Revised Code

Speaker: Frank Riegler
Frank Riegler is the Public Awareness and Service Coordinator for OHIO811 in the Central Ohio area. Frank has spent the past 25 years focusing his experience on safety. Previously working with AT&T, Frank was a Safety Manager overseeing the safety program for over 600 technicians. His focus was on training and educating technicians on safety awareness and accident prevention. In 2022, Frank joined OHIO811 which continued his career in helping to spread safety awareness, this time in the utilities field. Frank currently provides training and consulting to both the public and private sectors in utility and safety awareness to promote positive safety cultures.
